Example
Fariah works as a customer care agent for a sales organization. She should work Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in business's workplace. She uses the company's telephones and computer systems. She is paid $25.50 per hour. Her work agreement does not have an end date, although her employer can fire or discipline her for surgiteams.com poor efficiency. Her employment contract mentions that she is an independent specialist and so she does not receive overtime pay, trip pay or public vacation pay.

- the individual and the business concur (orally or in composing) that the individual is an independent contractor. It is the relationship between the individual and the company (or individual) that matters, not the label that is provided to it
- the person:- charges the balanced sales tax (HST).
- submits billings to the organization.
- uses their own automobile for work functions.
Volunteers
Volunteers are not staff members under the ESA. However, the fact that somebody is called a "volunteer" does not identify whether that person is a worker and entitled to the defenses of the ESA.
The main elements that determine whether someone is a volunteer or a worker are just how much:
- business (or kenpoguy.com person) take advantage of the person's services.
- the specific views the plan as being in pursuit of a living.
In family-run organizations, the concern will often be whether the person is supplying services in pursuit of a living or in service of the household.

If the person is providing services to the household, rather than services in pursuit of a living, that individual is more likely to be a volunteer.
The reality that no salaries were paid does not always imply that someone is a volunteer. The reality that there was some kind of payment does not necessarily mean someone is a worker. For example, somalibidders.com an honorarium might have been paid, instead of earnings.
