To enable the virtualized headend, Ateme used its native cloud-based TITAN software suite, composed of its multiscreen linear encoders and linear multiplexers with scrambling capabilities.

The virtualization of the headend is a first step in the migration of all MyTV’s IPTV and OTT services to a private cloud, to reach more than 2.5 million subscribers with a simpler workflow.

The virtualized headend delivered by Ateme includes future-proof technologies such as the CMAF standard to enable low latency, SDI over IP, and Dynamic Ad Insertion capabilities for better monetization with targeted advertising. These technologies also make it a flexible headend that can expand easily. Based on containerized software orchestrated by Kubernetes, the headend runs on a private cloud.

“Unlike broadcast services, OTT services can face growing pains,” said Nguyen Duc Long, Sales Director at Ateme. “To meet the challenges of an expanding subscriber base, it’s important to have a robust and scalable platform. Moving to the cloud ensures this – while also reducing capital expenditure. We are thrilled to have been able to accompany MyTV in this first step of its migration to the cloud, helping it deliver captivating video experiences with a headend that is 100% cloud-based.”

“Thanks to the cloud-based solutions offered by Ateme, along with the team’s support and flexibility, we were able to start moving our OTT platform to a private cloud, which will allow us to deliver more content to more devices in a more affordable way”, said Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of Television Center, MyTv.

Ateme offers advanced management and local support for its solutions, which can be installed and deployed on any kind of infrastructure, from bare metal to Virtual Machines. The sale of illegal Android TV boxes has returned at popular tech mall Sim Lim Square after some disquiet over an unprecedented move against piracy in 2018 that led to court sanctions.
