Overview of the Ice Gauntlet

This weapon's secondary function is that of a Utility Tank. This weapon has extremely strong tanking capabilities, but it will frequently require a very high tier of Carnelian Gem to properly hold aggro due to the fact that it does not have a taunt. But it does have a wide range of tools that enable it to perform admirably in such a role. Combining this with powerful slows and high blocking potential, NW coins makes for a very durable Intelligence-based weapon.

Skills, Passives, and Perks for the Ice Gauntlet

Ice Tempest Tree (also known as the Tempest Tree)

Ice Tempest is the Ice Gauntlet's raw damage output tree, and it is a powerful weapon. With three of the most powerful damage spells available, but less utility, most builds will incorporate one or more skills from this tree into their setup. Ice Spikes, Ice Storm, and Wind Chill are the Active Skills for the Ice Tempest class.

It is possible to cast Ice Spikes to create a spike trail that extends up to 8 meters from the casting location and ends with a Mighty Spike. Weapon Damage is dealt by the spike trail (56%), while the Mighty Spike deals 157% weapon damage. When you press the key to perform a Light Attack, the trail will be terminated early and a Mighty Spike will be released where the trail was terminated.

This spell is one of the most reliable options for dealing burst damage in the Ice Gauntlet's arsenal. With the ability to cancel early, it can be cast in a short period of time at point-blank range, making it a very versatile skill once mastered.

Ice Spikes has a cooldown of only 10 seconds, making it one of the Ice Gauntlet's quickest cooldowns to use. Ice Spikes has a Mana cost of 15, making it one of the ice Gauntlet's more affordable spells.

The AoE and burst provided by Ice Spikes are sufficient for PvE use once you become accustomed to canceling the skill early. This item also happens to be equipped with one of the most powerful perks available among the Ice Gauntlet's perks, which, when used properly, can make it even more powerful. There's even a sweet spot where you can deal both trail damage and Mighty Spike range at the same time in this area.

In PvP, it can be a good damage option for close-to-medium ranged combatants. The Ice Gauntlet, on the other hand, has more dependable and adaptable skills for PvP.

When you consider that the Mighty Spike is responsible for the majority of the damage, you'll want to use it as often as possible. The additional bit of cooldown reduction isn't significant, but it does help to increase the frequency with which you can use your abilities.

Rating for Refreshing Spikes: S – both PvE and PvP

When used with the Mighty Spike, Empowered Spikes increase the damage done by the Mighty Spike by 20% when used against enemies with less than 30% health.

This is one of the better perks for Ice Spikes, as it increases the main part of their damage and allows them to pack a little more of a punch against targets with low life.

Overall, this is a good damage perk, despite the low threshold, which limits its effectiveness a little. The Perilous Road

In addition, the Deadly Path increases the trail damage by 10% and grants it the ability to Stagger. This has no effect on the damage done by Mighty Spike.

Deadly Path has a C rating for both PvE and PvP.

The only real advantage of doing this is that it adds the stagger effect. There is some erratic behavior with the stagger, as it is not always a stagger in the direction of the path of the trail. It varies a great deal depending on where the smaller spikes land on your target.

Spectacular Reach

The fact that they were able to hit the initial target of Mighty Spike would result in a nice damage bonus for them. Although they are less precise, they still serve as a less precise means of getting decent damage out of Ice Spikes.

The Spiky Reach Rating is A – both in PvE and in PvP

Ice Storm creates a 5 meter-wide frosted area around enemies, slowing them by 25% and dealing 17% Weapon Damage every 0.33 second for a total of five seconds. Over the course of those 5 seconds, this skill ends up dealing a total of 255% damage.

The Ice Gauntlet's most commonly used and most recognizable skill is this one. The Ice Gauntlet has numerous options for encircling and preventing your opponent from leaving Ice Storm, which makes it extremely effective if you have some way of keeping them there.

This skill is well-known and well-liked for a good reason. Despite the fact that it appears to be weak at first glance, it has one of the highest potential damage of any skill in the game. Its passives only serve to make this even more powerful as you accumulate more of them. With the combination of mass slow and heavy damage, it is extremely effective at mobbing in PvE and excellent for Wars or large skirmishes in PvP.

Despite the significant nerf it received in the 1.1 "Into the Void" Update, it continues to be a powerful skill. It's still a useful skill, but the reduction in damage here and across passives has reduced its effectiveness a little. It's still very much a must-have skill in many situations.

Weakening Gust acts as a pseudo-Rend, increasing damage dealt to enemies in Ice Storm by 10% if they are less than 50% health when it is applied. When you exit Ice Storm, this effect will be terminated immediately.

This isn't a true Rend, but it functions in a similar manner and can be used in conjunction with other Rend effects, which can make  exceptionally effective. When used at the appropriate times, having Buy New World EU Central Alastor Coins on such a large AoE can also have a significant impact on the battlefield.

Rating for Weakening Gust: S – both PvE and PvP

Storm Summoner When Ice Storm is cast at full mana, Storm Summoner reduces the mana cost of the spell by 80%.

Because you'll be in command of the majority of engagements with this ability, Ice Storm costs only 5 Mana. This represents a significant cost savings for such a powerful skill.

Given that there are a variety of ways to increase mana regeneration and generally restore mana, this should trigger for the majority of Ice Storm casts. It cannot be overstated how powerful Ice Storm is, and being able to obtain it for only 5 mana can make a significant difference in the outcome of a battle, as the first cast of this spell will be practically free.

Storms of Punishment

Punishing Storm has a S+ rating in both PvE and PvP.

With the 1.1 "Into the Void" Update, this passive no longer has the effect of dispelling Ice Storm when switching weapons. It will always increase your damage, so it should always be used when playing Ice Storm, regardless of the situation. There isn't any reason to continue without it.

Wind Chill is another skill that appears to be unimpressive on the surface, but when used correctly, it can be a very powerful skill, and it becomes even more powerful when combined with its passives. Its tooltip is currently incorrect, as the damage bonus in the last two meters is actually 30%, rather than the stated 10%.

Wind Chill has a cooldown of 15 seconds, making it one of the Ice Gauntlet's more manageable cooldowns. Wind Chill is one of the more expensive spells in the Ice Gauntlet's arsenal, requiring 20 Mana to cast.

While this skill deals significant damage in PvE, it is unreliable in terms of dealing high amounts of damage outside of PvE. For a brief period of time, it can prevent a large number of weapons from easily reaching you, but any weapon that contains any form of Grit will ignore it.

Chill for a Long Time

This increases Wind Chill's damage by another 5 ticks, for a total increase in damage of 50% over the course of the game. If it is in the sweet spot, it increases its maximum potential damage to 390% Weapon Damage over the course of three seconds.

Ratings for Enduring Chill: S for PvE, C for PvP

a chilling blast of electricity

Last but not least, chilling increases the damage in that 2 meter sweet spot by a quarter.

This is a very nice damage boost, as it increases the damage per tick by up to 31% while in the sweet spot, increasing the total damage dealt by the weapon. With the sweet spot, the skill has a damage potential of 465% weapon damage over 3 seconds, which is still a lot of damage.
